The PHCNP (Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner) Project was funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec in the Partnerships for Health System Improvement (PHSI) Program. The research team also wishes to thank the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé for the salary support awarded to members of the research team.
This project’s overall objective is :
- to analyse how to integrate and what to consider when planning ton integrate a primary health care nurse practitioner (PHCNP) into a primary care team ;
- and to offer support to the planning of the integration of PHCNP.
The PHCNP project is combining two sources: 1) the results of a systematic review of the scientific literature on advanced nursing practice in primary care, and 2) the results of six case studies of settings that have integrated PHCNPs in three health regions of Quebe
